the last few days
so these last ffew days have been good at the gallery, I had many people come in a cloplement the gallery on being availible, the only negative comment being that the hours were bad, but durring the semester Im sure that will get better. Im very excited for the viseting artist to come in and really enchance the space even more! this internship has been very helpful and exciting for me to experence and become accustomed to the runnings and fast pace also slow pace of gallery running, how to deal with artist vs. dealing with costermer. It was an enriching and engageing experence I know will only help me move froward in my art career!

the 16th and beyond to the next day.
So friday night went really well, the show was up and our window was looking arty thanks to the great Stoney. Kaitlin and I met up went to albertsons to get our try and snackys and we also picked up extra supplies for shows to come with some of the extra money but we still stayd under budget by 20$ so woot! Kaitlin and I got the show set up then went to the farmers market to distribute cards and alk the show up it went good and bad, but mostly good. people are just afrid of girls handing out flyers. Anyway the show was dead till 6:30 then it really picked up and stayed busy till we suffled people out at 8pm. And even with Nate gone we rememberd the ramp and everything went smooth! yay interns doing things correctlly.
the 17th
So today was a very important day! it was Greatchen's 4th B-day Courtney Googe's little girl. Kaitlin and I have been reday to go to this for weeks, I got her the cutist stuffed rabbit from Sweet Pickles. so the gallery hours were manipulated for this sweet little girl and I went in from 12 to 2 kaitlin and I both went to the birthday pardy where we wore hats made of paper and then Kailin got back to the gallery from 4- 6pm. in my hour I did meet a very nice lady who really appreciated the university's dedication to the art program and also enjoyed my sketchbooks I was working on, we are now facebook freinds! yay community building!

july 8th 10th and yesterday
the 8th.
no one came in really, I think Kaitlin is getting all the jublie traffic on her friday shifts. though I did enjoy the last few days of the orgins exhibit. I am leaving for Vegas after Saturday shift and soo excited to get out of Laramie for a little while. I did get some sweet sketching done while working, I think the gallery has been most useful for this I mean I can sit and sketch with a room full of inspiration around me! but nothing really went on today I just hung out and no one was there.
10th
the gallery was closed today due to the Orgins exhibit being taken down and the new Frontier sets and scape's show going up! woot so I left for Vegas eairly and will be back on Thurs. just a quick wish list for the gallery, it needs these few things to make it much more efficient and better. A swifter wet jet! ( or all the floors need re sanded and re varnished) also need Internet access this way the interns could email advisers when questions come up or blog as they are working to avoid my three to four days in one blog scenario I get into. also for Kaitlin's sanity we need to paint that front Bord that is black White or else Kaitlin will crack. The gallery also needs a better open sign and the vinyl for the big empty windows because no matter how well they are clean you cant tell there is anything in there until you walk in and not many people are Willing to try without this certainty. anyway its a working list, but I think this summer Kaitlyn and I can work on a few of these.
July 15th
tragedy struck! while I was in Vegas I get a call from Felicia Follum, last semesters intern for the gallery, who says that she herd the gallery window was broken, I was stunned called Nate and he told me that someone had thrown a brick through the window on Saturday night...I was just shocked that some stupid idiot as drunk as they must have been still could do something like that, it was just awful. so I drive home Thurs after getting up at 3am and i drive straight to the gallery for my Thursday shift, don't stop home don't get lunch , just straight to the gallery to meet Kaitlin and check it out. also Katlin didn't know about this until I told her... so we get there and there is a huge white panel in the window where glass once stood. the panel was however neat because one of the vise ting artists painted on it a very nice goat! hey way to get people's attention! yay art! however inside the show is set up but a huge mess is everywhere ( this is what happens when artists set up there own show, the art looks great and the gallery is a mess) the latter was out, the paint cans everywhere, and one of our brand new rollers was left out covered in paint, I tried to stoke it but after and hour I found it to be completely ruined! so Katlin and I started to put everything away and swept and moped when Sterling, one of the artist, came in and put up the vinyl and finished prepping the show, which is good cause the vinal needed to go up however this prevented us from opening on Thursday till about 2pm! bummer. anyway sterling was very nice our families are actually Friends with each other, small world. anyway he left and we had about ten people come in! I think sterling panting on the window panel was a great way to get people to come in! they defiantly notice more. anyway the window should be fixed next week and the show opening is tonight, Kaitlin and I are buying the food from albertson's cause its our store! more later...

galley internship 211 day 1- sometime later
Hello Internet land, I am required to write this blog for my internship at gallery 211 located in down town LLaramie. The first day has been the most promising so far. seven gusts came in to see the Karen Kimel show at the time I sat in a chair next to the big window and drew in my search book until my four hours were up. Nate Able is our Galley advisor and was getting ready for the next show to be curated by him. So far we were off to a promising internship.
Day two ish no guest came in. I swept the floor
next time and after that two gusts i moped the floor and Kaitlin and I started painting the walls back to there original white color for Nate's show, our cards came in so Kaitlin and i handed them around town and put in local businesses. Kaitlin also made us a makeshift desk to sit at, much more professional and cool.
next time was the opening, I missed my night class to be there, very good turn out of support.
June 19th
One of the artists came in with his son. He liked the gallery space, his son however remarked it was more boring than art museums usually are. thems the brakes
June 24th
A women came in very interested in how this museum gets money and suggested that we send out post cards so people could donate to the museum. two other men also came in for a look, so far no poor remark on the art itself. the gallery however was attacked by mosquito's and I was eaten up. I used one of the publicity cards to ward them off.
June 26th
rained today. The rain kept the mosquito's and art viewers away. only my Friends came, but they did like the art. the power went off in the last half hour, so we sat there and talked to the dimmed art with the rain outside.
I do promise to keep a better more updated accounts for these adventures in the gallery from now on, just had to start by getting caught up. more on Thursday! thanks art and Internet world, also pictures to come...
